3 “No No’s” for weight loss

Six-pack abs. Tight butts. Lean, vibrant, flawless health? Is something 90% of our I Eat Awesome clients ask for during consultation. But have you ever wondered what it costs to achieve that “look”? What do you really need to give up?

Here are our top THREE things to say No to if you really want to lose weight and gain health long term.

1. Wheat

You’ve been brainwashed into thinking whole grains, especially wheat, should make up the bulk of your diet. But all grains are carbohydrates and carbohydrates are complex sugars. That’s right, sugar. Wheat is also quite high in gluten and there is growing evidence to suggest that excess gluten in you diet can lead to digestive distress and weight gain. It’s a little more complicated than that but a great place to start is to remove all wheat products from your diet.

Why not swap – 1. wheat pasta for fresh vegetable spirals, 2. bread or rolls for Spelt wraps or corn/rice thins, 3. Read your labels, wheat hides in most processed food!

2. Refined Sugar

Refined sugar is like rocket fuel for your body and plays havoc with your hormones resulting in weight gain, lethargy and mental “fog”. Refined sugar comes in many forms and you’ll most certainly find it in processed foods. A great rule of thumb is to avoid any product with more than 5g Sugar per 100g.

3. Dairy

Dairy is natures perfect food!……. but only if you’re a calf!

Humans are the only species which consume milk into adulthood and the only to drink milk of another species! Milk is growth, weight gain, promoting. Designed to make a little calf grow to a large animal quickly. We do not recommend for weight loss.

Why not swap milk and dairy products for: Almond or rice milk, Coconut yogurt, and swap cheese for nuts or hummus.

Emma and I have personally experienced the benefits of saying No to Dairy, Wheat and Refined Sugar. Below is our result 🙂 Interested in taking the first step? Why not try our 30 day smoothie challenge 🙂
